What should a softwashing quotation explain?
It should identify the elevations, proposed cleaning approach, preparation, access and expected limitations. Ask about surrounding features and aftercare as well as price. A broad claim to transform the building is less useful than knowing what the treatment can reasonably achieve on your finish.
Why is a fixed price for the whole house difficult?
Size alone does not cover height, obstructions, contamination or the render's condition. One elevation may need different consideration from another. Photographs and material information help the quotation address the actual work rather than assuming all walls are equally suitable and accessible.
Will more pressure remove what treatment does not?
Aggressive pressure is not a default solution for rendered walls and may be inappropriate, particularly on vulnerable finishes. Persistent marks can have another cause or be permanent. Discuss them rather than assuming stronger washing is the appropriate next step.
Can cleaning replace repair of loose render?
No. Loose or failing material needs to be identified before treatment, with suitable repair advice where necessary. Cleaning targets contamination and cannot restore the integrity of the render system. A fresh appearance should not conceal a condition that needs a different remedy.
Are chemicals always safe around plants?
No universal harmlessness claim is appropriate. Identify planting and water features so precautions can be planned for the chosen method. Follow access and handover guidance instead of assuming low pressure means the surroundings need no consideration.
Will the wall match a new extension afterwards?
That is not guaranteed. Existing materials, coatings, age and colour variation can remain different after cleaning. Explain the comparison you have in mind before booking. Removing dirt does not make two differently finished walls identical.
What should happen if a water stain persists?
Describe it and seek appropriate advice about any continuing moisture source. A cleaning treatment cannot guarantee removal of every non-organic mark or repair the cause. Review the remaining issue with clear photographs rather than repeatedly applying products without understanding it.
